ANTJE BLUMENSTEIN

Exhibition TOM MOSLEY + ANTJE BLUMENSTEIN . VIEL LICHT - VIEL SCHATTEN

Raum Schroth at Museum Wilhelm Morgner, Soest

12. February til 8. May 2022

Light and shadow are everyday phenomena that we usually take for granted. Tom Mosley and Antje Blumenstein draw our attention to them anew.

In addition to luminous installations and wall objects, the exhibition also features works on paper, which occupy a central place in both Antje Blumenstein's and Tom Mosley's oeuvre. Both use the light material for reduced sculptural works in which the shadow emphasizes linear structures or blends into the space with painterly nuances.

The joint presentation testifies to the fascination with light that unites Tom Mosley (*1927) and Antje Blumenstein (*1967) despite the generation gap, to commonalities in their handling of the material, and to individual solutions.

With the committed support of Antje Blumenstein and Nicholas Bodde, Bremen, who provides an overview of the development of Tom Mosley's work with loans from his artistic estate, VIEL LICHT – VIEL SCHATTEN is curated by Carl-Jürgen Schroth. A catalog with an essay by Dr. Susannah Cremer-Bermbach will be published to accompany the exhibition.
