Hansjörg Schneider
The artist works with the cutting and tearing technique, which leads to very different spatial effects in his collages: the hard cut edges step forward, while the soft, torn edges go backwards. The very fine lines almost look like lace.
The works from the series “Quicksilver Messenger Service” look like precious miniatures against their black background and their silver shimmer and at the same time testify to the great wit of the artist, since they were made from chewing gum paper, as you can easily see from the jagged edges. It was created due to the pandemic, because the artist had set himself the task of producing such a work every day during the lockdown.
In the new group of works, he conquers three-dimensional space and creates light sculptures with net-like structures that form geometric shapes.
